Her fears and insecurities are ones I have experienced first-hand and reading her story meant so much to me. I don’t want to give away anything, but Kat’s story resonated with me on a very deep and personal level. One of the most powerful ways Kat and Dan grow over the course of the book is in regards to Kat’s past and family. And like all of Penny Reid’s books, there is a great sense of character development. There’s a bit of intrigue in this novel, kind of like the first book in the series, which drives the plot along in interesting ways. There is not a lot of angst, so if you’re into love triangles or over-the-top drama, you’re out of luck. More generally, this book is very dynamic. They have great chemistry and make an ideal partnership. I love them as individuals but together they are magic. The most immediately obvious thing I love about this book is Dan & Kat. I love it so much for so many reasons it’s difficult to elucidate them all. Dan has kept his eye on Kat for a while, so he’s happy to help, even if helping means marrying.

Quick & Dirty summary: Kat Turner and Dan O’Malley have been giving each other the eye for a while now. This book is a standalone novel, technically, but it is the final book in a series with a lot of characters, so it’s best read in order. This book touched my heart and I had to share it with you.
